Revamp the friend finder feature in the festival app
In 2018, in collaboration with Pukkelpop Festival, Appmiral won the ‘Festival of the Future’ award in the Technology category. They earned this award through the Friend Finder feature.
This feature allows users to locate their friends on the interactive map or via Augmented Reality. Over the years, the feature has become outdated, and unfortunately, it no longer works within the app

Our interviews with frequent festival-goers revealed that festival attendees often split up from their group due to different music or food preferences and primarily use chat applications like WhatsApp to communicate and locate each other.
Solution: revamp our friend finder.
SOLUTION
Provides festival-goers with an easy and efficient way to share their location with their friends on a crowded event.
Works in combination with the interactive map, which means users can see their friend’s locations in reference to the festival’s POIs, unlike Google Maps or WhatsApp.
Allows users to save their locations by marking them, naming them, and sharing them to use as a meeting spot.
Provides stakeholders with opportunities for product placement and lucrative collaborations.
